Wendell Phillip Patterson, the son of Edward Patterson and Elizabeth Phillips Patterson, both deceased, was born in Mt. Vernon, New York on October 20, 1940.  Following a few years of declining health, he peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on April 8, 2017.  

He was a New York native for his entire life, until his retirement to Elon, North Carolina 11 years ago.  He was a Mail Handler for the United States Postal Service.  He enjoyed sport, especially watching the Carolina Panthers.  He was an internet game aficionado. 

He leaves loving memories to his beloved wife: Ruby Cleveland Patterson; two children: Timothy P. Patterson (Alexis) and Tanya Miller; 3 grandchildren; two sisters: Sharon Patterson and Lorese P. Moore (Gilbert); 2 aunts: Beatrice Jackson and Mildred Eskridg along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends.  

He was preceded in death by two additional siblings: Ronald Patterson and Beverly Deveraux.
