Her Life’s Legacy
Zelma Lee Crisp Minor passed away on December 20, 2023 into eternal life surrounded by her knight in shining armor, Norman. She was born in Alamance County to Forrest Crisp and Geneva Thompson Crisp on August 7, 1951.
Being raised in the Mebane Community, she attended the local school systems and was a graduate of Central High School. Following her graduation, she enrolled at North Carolina Central University. It was here that Zelma developed many long-lasting friendships. While concentrating on her studies, she pledged with the first and finest, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Soror Minor was a member of Psi Gamma Omega Chapter, Hillsborough, NC.
Following her graduation in 1974, she began a vibrant career with the Durham County Public School Systems. She was a dedicated and devoted educator who poured of herself into the lives of her many students. Truly she made lasting impressions on their lives.
Spiritually, Zelma was a faithful disciple of Miles Chapel Baptist Church. She was a member and President of the Women’s Ministry. She loved the Lord and believed in every promise that He made and fulfilled within her life.
Following many years of living her life, Zelma, “a good thing” was found by the love of her life, Norman Minor, Jr. The Lord truly designed Zelma and Norman for each other. With their love story it defines that it is not always about the duration or quantity of time, however the quality of love resonated within the care and love they shared with each other.
The tapestry of her love will forever be woven with in the hearts and minds of her devoted and loving husband Norman Minor, Jr.; her sisters: Diane C. Worth and Janice C. Bullock; two bonus children: Kevin J. Minor (Tasha) and Stephany D. Minor; bonus granddaughter: Destiny Minor as well a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, Sorors and dear and devoted friends.
In her passing, she joins her parents Forrest Crisp and Geneva Thompson Crisp and her brother Norris Woodie Crisp.
