The life of Willie Cotanus Richmond came to a close on September 5, 2022 in his residence following a period of declining health. He was born in Rockingham County, North Carolina to Ivy Richmond and Bertha Brown Richmond. He was a graduate of Central High School with the class of 1964 and he also attended Alamance Community College to obtain certification as an Auto Mechanic.
He was a devoted member of Miles Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee with the Boy Scouts and the Cub Scouts as their Troop Master. He also sang with the Male Chorus. In his times of leisure, he enjoyed classic cars, more so vintage cars. He was the consummate host of car shows and he loved motorcycles as well. He was the proprietor of Richmond Cattle Farm. He was loved and admired by many and will be missed by all who cherished him.
He leaves loving and cherished memories to his wife Ella Richmond; his son Cotanus Hurbert Richmond; stepdaughter Shunta Blackwell; brother Gary L. Richmond and his wife Hattie; a sister Edith R. Brown; three grandchildren Jessica, John, and Cotanus "CJ"; one step granddaughter Janisia Gant as well as a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother Tyson Richmond and a granddaughter Carmen Richmond.
