William Andrew Murdock, better known too many as “Buck” or “Murdock” was born November 9, 1943 in Guilford County to George Murdock and Mary Banks Murdock Ervin. He passed away peacefully on October 7, 2019 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell following several weeks of declining health.
He was a retired chef with various restaurants and he was a skilled textile laborer. Mr. Murdock was a United States Army Veteran and served his country honorably. While he had his own personal struggles, as we all do, he genuinely had a heart of gold and would help anyone as he was able to do.
He was formerly married to Ms. Peggy Murdock, who remained his friend and shared love until the end. In addition to Peggy, “Buck” leaves to cherish his memory: two children: Johnathan M. Tate and Mia A. Tate; three grandchildren and several nieces & nephews other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two siblings: Willie Murdock and Betty M. Hairston.
