Wilhelmena Baldwin

     Wilhelmena Baldwin daughter of the late Mr. June Baldwin and Mrs. Margaret Snipes Baldwin Vincent was born June 28, 1928 and departed this life on Sunday, November 15, 2020.  She was raised in Bynum, NC and attended Horton High. Later she moved to Burlington, NC and started domestic work for several different families. Her favorite hobbies were ironing and folding clothes. One particular family was in her life until her death that’s the Lackey family. She worked for them over 50 years. She attended their annual Christmas party until her failing health in 2018. The Lackey’s still visited her in the nursing facility singing hymns and having fun with the other residents.
     Wilhelmena loved GOD and going to church. She joined Hamlet’s Chapel in Bynum, NC at an early age and First Baptist Church on Apple Street after moving to Burlington. She remained a faithful member there serving on the usher board over 40 years, until her health declined. After moving to Siler City to live with her niece and husband for 4 years she attended Rose Hill AME Zion Church in Moncure, NC. Wilhelmena had a loving spirit and was loved by many.
     Wilhelmena is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Petty Baldwin and Ben Rose Baldwin, and one sister Eliza Mae Weaver. 
     She leaves to cherish her memories a special niece Margaret Ann Matthews (Frankie), loving nephew Minister Johnny Weaver and a loving niece Benita Weaver. A sweet great nephew Frante’ Matthews (Maria). A sweet great niece First Lady Martisla Cotton (Rev. Walter Cotton Jr). A host of other relatives and friends.
