Mr. Walter Gwin Graves, Sr. “WG”, 86 of 1419 Albert St. transitioned on September 6, 2018 at the Hospice & Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell.
He was the son of the Samuel Floyd Graves, Sr. and Julur Bell Yellock Graves, both deceased. He was the husband of Mrs. Emma Ann Miles Graves. He was a member and Deacon of Beulah Baptist Church. He was a life-long farmer and worked in the textile industry for many years at Burlington Industries.
He is survived by his wife: Emma Ann Miles Graves; four children: Walter G. Graves, Jr. (Carolyn), Faye Jean Rone (Melvin), Melinda Carol Johnson (Jerry) and Anita Elizabeth Graves-Burton (Michael); 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a sister: Lessie Marie Fowler; an aunt Mable Holt as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son: Sammuel Davis Graves "Sammy" and siblings: Johnnie Dee Graves, Clyde Kelly Graves, Meddis Graves, Floyd Graves, Jr., Rufus Graves, Robert Melvin Graves, Hassie Graves Pulliam, Gertrude Graves Graves, Carrie Lee Graves Smelly, Gracie Graves Enoch and Lillie Mae Graves Morse.
