Timothy Lee Chavis

Mr. Timothy Lee Chavis of 2664 Green Level Loop Rd. Burlington in the Green Level Community transitioned on July 16, 2021 while being cared for by the wonderful staff of Authora Care Collective Hospice of Alamance-Caswell.  Born on December 2, 1960 in Alamance County to Mr. Columbus Chavis and Mrs. Mabel Crisp Chavis he was one of eight children.  Timothy was a 1978 graduate of Graham High School.  He was a mechanic and car detailer, this is how is passion for cars was enhanced to the point, if a person does what they love, then its never like work.  Timothy was also the comedian of the family, he loved to keep everyone laughing and smiling.

His life and legacy will be forever cherished in the hearts of his family, his wife, Cheyenne Gant Chavis; two daughters, LaShanda Gant Poteat and Sherea Chantel Chavis; three grandchildren, Maliek Poteat, Kendra Poteat and Julien Poteat; one brother, Rollins Chavis (Helen); four sisters, Elaine C. Turner (Kenneth), LaVerne Boone (Ronnie), Martha Royster (Rev. Sterling) and Beverly Arrington (David); a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Timothy was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Cathy Chavis and Alease Chavis.
