Shirley Ann (Richmond) Royster

Mrs. Shirley Ann Richmond Royster "Shorty" 75, of Greenlevel transitioned at her home on Monday, November 28, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Layton and Juanita Brown Richmond. Shirley was born in Alamance County on December 15, 1946.

Shorty as she was known by her family and friends was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church in Burlington, NC. Family was her number one priority. She and her husband Randolph "Lightening"  worked diligently to make sure that their daughters were well cared for. During her personal time Shorty enjoyed working word search and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting new places. Educated in the Alamance County School System Shorty graduated from Jordan Sellars High School in 1966.

Shorty is survived by her loving and dedicated husband Randolph Alexander Royster "Lightening"; daughters, Tavira Evans (Joshua), Diana Royster; stepdaughter, Samantha Wimple (Anthony); brothers, Charlie Richmond, Jessie Richmond (Michelle), Grayling “Greg” Richmond (Peggy); sister, Ramona Mitchell; grandchildren, Juwan Royster, A.J. Wimple, Josiah Evans “Joe Blow”, Naiyah Evans “Big Legs”, Zhuri Evans “Z Cat”; Andrew McClean along with a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Layton and Juanita Richmond, sisters, Rosa Thompson, Deloris Richmond and her brother-in-law Douglas Mitchell.
