Shirley (Rogers) Boone

Mrs. Shirley Rogers Boone 83, of Mebane North Carolina transitioned on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Compass Health - The Presbyterian Home of Hawfields in Alamance County. She was born to Victor Rogers Sr. and Louise Love Rogers on May 14, 1940, in Mebane, NC in Alamance County.

She attended Pleasant Grove Union High School. Upon graduating Shirley attended NCA&T State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in business. Shirley taught business classes in Rocky Mount, NC at Swift creek High School and Northern Nash High School for thirty-one years.

Shirley was involved in community service delivering meal on wheels to the elderly. Shirley was a member of The Rocky Mount Chapter of THE MOLES who participated in service projects in their respective communities. Shirley enjoyed shopping, traveling, playing penuckle and driving her Jaguar. 

Shirley was predeceased by her father, Victor Rogers, Sr., mother, Louise Love Rogers and her brother Victor Rogers Jr. 

Shirley leaves to cherish her precious memories her brother, Ben Rogers (Christine); sister, Doris Rogers, nephew, Shawn Kingsberry; great-niece, Meisha Corbett (Tyrone), great great-nephew, Elijah Corbett; cousins and a host of extended family members and friends.
