Sarah Jane (Burnett) Johnson

Sarah Jane Burnett Johnson was born October 14, 1934 in Alamance County, North Carolina to Franklin Passmore Burnett and Hilda Webster Burnett. Following a period of declining health, at 6:35 AM on May 7, 2022, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend transitioned into eternal life while being cared for by the staff of Cone-Health Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Being an Alamance County native all her life, she was educated in the county school systems and retired as an Inspector with Kayser Roth Hosiery Mills. She was married to the love of her life Lonnie Grady Johnson and to this union five beautiful daughters were born. Spiritually, she was a member of Burnett's Chapel Christian Church. She served as an Usher, Sunday School Teacher and Secretary, Church Treasurer, Deaconess and she sang with the Senior Choir. In her spare time when she wasn’t cooking or tending to her beautiful flowers she love to sew and work puzzles. She loved westerns and above all she was an Atlanta Braves fan.

She leaves loving and lasting memories to her five beautiful daughters: Elwanda J. Bradsher (Alfred), Jean J. Shoffner (Lemuel), Sandra J. Brooks (Carlton), Glenda J. Jones and Marilyn Johnson; five loving siblings: Delcie French, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Johnson, Carolyn Faye Burnett, Linda Lou Bailey (Paul) and Frankie Wayne Burnett (Vanessa); 14; grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren as well as several devoted nieces and loving nephews cousins and friends. 

In addition to her loving and caring husband Lonnie and her wonderful parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings: Judy Oldham, Betty Jean Johnson and Grady C. Burnett; two great-grandchildren: Kylah Price, Nickolas Johnson; two son-in-laws; Stanley White Sr. and Herschel Jones Sr..
