Rosa Moore Obituary

Wednesday, February 20, 1927 was a special day for the Price Family as William Thomas Price and Birdie Marsh Price welcomed a special child into their home their fourth child, whom they named Rosa Lee. The fragrance and beauty that she held would be a lasting legacy for years to come. She was educated in the Alamance School System and graduated at the age of 16 from Jordan Sellars High School. After high school, she entered Shaw University following her sister Ozetta, and began studies in education. Upon graduation from Shaw at the age of 19, she began a teaching career which spanned 43 years. She was instrumental in cultivating the lives and assisting many children to obtain their goals within the Alamance County area as well as South Carolina where she began teaching.

Rosa met the love of her life over 66 years ago in the person of Mr. Richard Bernard Moore Sr. Rosa Lee was his staunch protector and his constant companion until his passing three weeks and five days ago. They shared a lasting love that will be remembered by their children Roslyn and Richard B. Moore, II better known as Pete and their grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a love and sense of humor that would illuminate a room with her mere presence. She enjoyed traveling and most of all being the matriarch of her family. She was an encourager and always saw the good in people. Above all, Rosa was a consummate educator. She possessed the ability to teach subjects that were not even familiar to her.

For her entire life she was a supporter and contributor to St. Matthews African Methodist Episcopal Church. Civically, Rosa was a member of the LaSertoma Club and professionally, a member of the North Carolina Educators Association. Rosa Lee Price Moore will be missed and loved by all who knew her , however the lasting beauty of this rose will never be forgotten.

Her legacy will live on through her devoted and faithful children: Dr. Roslyn M. Crisp and Richard B. Moore, II and his wife Jacqueline: four grandchildren: Dr. H. Alexander Crisp and his wife Dr. Jennifer Crisp, Dr. Benjamin G. Crisp and his wife McKinley, Madison Price Moore and Riley Simone Moore; two great-grandchildren: Olivia Nicole Crisp and Norah Audrey Crisp; sister-in-law: Alice Price; brother-in-law : Douglas V. Moore, Sr. and his wife Virginia well as a multitude of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

In addition to her beloved Richard, Sr., she joins her parents and siblings: William Brodie Price, Manley Price, Baby Clyde Price, Ozetta Price Guye and Willa Marsh Price. How heaven rejoices.
