Ramona Denise (Long) Powell

Ramona Denise Long Powell 67, of 608 Rainey Street, Burlington, NC 27215 transitioned from labor to reward on July 16, 2022 in Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. She was born to Harvey Linwood Long, Sr. and Mary Winstead Long on February 9, 1955 in Alamance County.

Mona was an excellent seamstress. As an entrepreneur she owned and operated her own daycare out of her home in Greensboro, NC. A dedicated student of the Gospel, she loved to read and study God's Word every day and every night before going to bed.

Mona is survived by her brothers, Andre Antonio Long, Donnell Neal (Evelyn); sisters, Linda L. Stith, Shirley Winstead Royster (Ross), Cathy Long Miller (Leroy); bonus children, Shelby Moore (Terry), Barbara Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Cynthia Mitchell, Benita Mitchell Long, Tim Mitchell (Sandy), Kevin Mitchell, Daria Pettiford, Edgar Holman; Grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nephews: Saalik Stith and Malik Yarboro; nieces: Terri Daye, Leetonya Miller; special cousin: James Albert Winstead (Barbara); devoted friends: Diane Russell, Ann Ragner, Christine Fearrington, Ava Warren Haith, Willie Daye (Terrie) and Timothy Foust   along with a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harvey Linwood Long Jr., longtime companion Curtis R. Mitchell; God-father: Luther Turner, Sr.; and nephew Harvier Lee Miller Daye.
