Condolences are being shared with the family of Preston Williamson, who passed away into eternal life on September 23, 2021 while he was being cared for by the staff of White Oak Manor. As the family prepares a fitting farewell, please continue to keep them in your prayers.
Mr. Preston Williamson was the son of Mr. George Washington Williamson, Sr. and Mrs. Ellen Stephens Williamson. Preston was born in Caswell County on April 22, 1924. Educated in the Caswell County School System he then entered the Army where he served Honorably in WWII. After returning home he met and married the apple of his eye, Ms. Thelma Daye. To this union five children were born. Mr. Preston or "Sweet Wolf" or "House Man" and even "395" as he was often referred to , was a family man, he loved his wife, children, grands and family as a whole. He was a life long member of Sweet Gum Missionary Baptist church. Mr. Preston was the neighborhood baseball coach, checker's champion, he was the owner and operator of Williamson Grocery, a farmer raising everything from tobacco, vegetables and chickens.
The sweet memory of Mr. Preston Williamson will be cherished by his three daughters, Shirley W. Gray(Vann Brown), Diane Williamson, and Jeanette Williamson; two sons, Theodore Nick Williamson and Preston Wayne "Junior" Williamson; one brother, Briston Williamson; sister-in-law: Willie Mae Daye; 6 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Mr. Preston was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Thelma Daye Williamson; four brothers, George Washington Williamson Jr., James Williamson, Roy Williamson and Carter Williamson; two sisters, Sally Williamson and Alice W. Pleasant.
