Mrs. Verna Inez (Singletary) Jones

       I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course and I have kept the faith.

            May 27, 2023, Verna Inez Singletary Jones departed this earthly life to enter eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born December 11, 1937 to late Reverend Joe L. and Martha Sue Pulliam Singletary. She was married to the late David Jones her life-long partner and friend.

            Verna attended Caswell County Schools and retired from Alamance Regional Medical Center in 2002.  She was a dedicated and committed server and cook for more than 20 years.

            Verna professed her hope in Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of Allen’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.  During her life-long membership she served with the Missionary Circle, Senior Choir, with whom she led “It’s me, it’s me, it’s me oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer” and she served with the Kitchen Committee as long as her health allowed her to do so. 

            Left to cherish her sweet, loving and caring memory are her three children: Barbara Brown and her husband Delroy, Debra Jones and Michael Jones and his wife Cynthia; a devoted and loving sister: Shirley S. Vincent; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Verna also leaves a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

            In addition to her husband Phil, and her parents: Rev. Joe and Sis. Martha, Verna now joins her brothers: Talmadge Singletary and Charlie Singletary.
