Mrs. Shirley Ann (Walker) Johnson

Mrs. Shirley Ann Walker Johnson age 81 transitioned from labor to reward on August 20, 2020 while being cared for at Peak Resources, Graham, NC.  Mrs. Shirley was the daughter of Mr. Archie Walker and Mrs. Viola Vanhook Walker both now deceased.  She was married to the late Mr. James Weldon Johnson.  Mrs. Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

She loved to walk, read, taking care of kids, not only her own but the kids in the neighborhood as well.  Mrs. Shirley loved good music, all types.  She really enjoyed the soulful voice of Lou Rawls and the lyrics to “Always and Forever” by Heatwave.  

Her life and legacy will be forever cherished in the hearts of her five sons, Victor M. Johnson (Callista), Rev. James Dewitt Johnson (Lorene), Steven R. Johnson (Antoinette Marie), Jay Van Johnson (Talley) and Gary L. Johnson; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 brother, James L. Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; 1 son, Doug Johnson;1 sister, Christine Walker Day and 1 brother, Archie Walker, Jr.
