Mrs. Mildred Elizabell Johnson Jeffries was born Reverend Lacy Egbert Johnson and Mrs. Verna Cobb Johnson on December 3, 1932. She was a 1953 graduate of Pleasant Grove Union High School and was a Homemaker and Farmer. She was a devoted wife to William Henderson Jeffries, better known as "Sam" and a loving mother to their only daughter, Carolyn Ann. Mildred was a dedicated and life-long member of Jeffries Cross Baptist Church. She served with the Willing Workers, Kitchen Ministry, Missionary Circle and sang with all the choirs as her health permitted. She held a loving and kind nature that was second to none. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves loving and lasting memories to her devoted and caring daughter Mrs. Carolyn Ann Jeffries Strickland (Hayworth); ten grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; a brother: The Reverend Thomas "Sonny" Johnson (Connie); an uncle, Brown Johnson, Jr. (Hattie) as well as a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and dear friends.
Following a brief illness, she passed away peacefully August 11, 2020, joining her loving husband Sam, her parents and siblings: Reverend Lacy Johnson (Joanne) and Emily Delois Johnson Kelso (Raymond).
