Forest Edward Dark Sr. (Tootsie) 83, of Mebane, NC went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his home. He was born on July 3, 1938 in Person County to the late Lewis Edward Dark and Myrtle L. Harris Dark. Forest attended Person County School until he had to stop his studies to help support his family while working on the farm. He worked at Sears and Fire Stone until he was able to retire.
Forest never met a stranger. He always greeted people with a heart-warming hello and his home was always a welcoming place for Family and friends. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, in Mebane NC where he was a member of the Trustee board and attended church regularly until his health declined. Fraternally, Brother Dark was a member and Past Master of the Yadkin Lodge #799, James T. Diggs Consistory #308, El Jebel Temple #97 AEAONMS of North & South America and St. Mary's Chapter #588 Order of the Eastern Star.
He was a dedicated father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Forest was preceded in death by his father: Lewis Dark; his mother Myrtle Dark; wife: Linda Moore Dark; brother: Claudus Holt; sisters: Louise Gant, Rosa Foust, and Bernice Strayhorn; daughter: Phyllis Dark Evans; son James Andrew Wiley and his great-grandson Shikym Richmond.
Cherishing his loving memories: Walter Evans Jr. of the home Mebane, NC; his four sons: Earl Wiley of Cedar Grove, NC, Forrest Dark Jr., Lewis Dark and Don Dark Sr. all of Mebane, NC; two daughters: Kathy Wiley of Burlington, NC, and Sharon Crisp of Graham, NC; brother: Alfonza (Lonney) Dark of Burlington, NC; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
