Michael Fitzgerald Thacker

Michael was born May 4, 1964, in Guilford County, North Carolina. He departed this earthly life on September 23, 2022, at UNC Medical Center. 

Michael grew up in Gibsonville, NC. and was educated in the Guilford County school system. He was a faithful member of his church. 

Michael enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and putting a smile on all their faces, whether it was by cracking a joke or “picking” with them. Michael always knew how to make sure everyone around him attended the family gatherings. He would start calling family members at 7:00 am in the morning. He loved the Baltimore Ravens, loved watching NASCAR and old westerns. He loved eating, especially his big sister Ann’s meatloaf, banana pudding and macaroni and cheese. Michael really enjoyed riding out with his sister Brenda, who transported him to medical appointments and gave him advice. Michael would reply “Brenda, you ain’t my Mama”. Michael never met a stranger. He would speak to everybody and would get mad if they didn’t speak back. Michael loved talking on the telephone to any and everybody. Michael loved his family. 

Michael was preceded in death by his loving mother: Florence Enoch Thacker; his grandparents: Gilbert and Ola Cobb; his sisters, Shirley Davis Moore, Enda Faye Williamson, and Louise Thacker; his brothers Carl Thacker and James Thacker. 

To cherish his memories, he leaves behind his loving brothers, Robert Thacker (Diane) Green Level, NC, Charles Thacker (Glenda) Green Level NC, Melvin Thacker (Brenda) Burlington, NC. His loving sisters: Ann Thacker Torain Greensboro, NC, Marion Thacker Paylor and Brenda Thacker both of Gibsonville, NC, sister- in-law Betty Thacker Gibsonville, NC. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends whom he loved and adored. Michael will be dearly missed and always remembered.
