Michael Tyrone ("Boot") McCandies

Mr. Michael Tyrone McCandies of 2607 E. Hughes Mill Rd. affectionately called "Boot" by both family and friends transitioned on January 29, 2021 at the Authora Care Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell after a lengthy illness.  "Boot" is the son of Mrs. Mamie Miles McCandies and the late Mr. Ralph McCandies Sr. born in Durham County, NC.

"Boot" is a member of Martin's Chapel Baptist Church, where he would volunteer where and whenever.  Michael was a graduate of Eastern High School class of 1972.  His employment included farming and landscaping, sometimes self-employed and with State Construction.  

Michael along with his brothers was taught to hunt and fish by his father, in which became his favorite past-time.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph McCandies Sr.; brothers, Ralph McCandies Jr., Ricky L. McCandies, Kerry L. McCandies and Mark A. McCandies.

The life and legacy of Michael T. McCandies will be forever cherished by his mother, Mamie Miles McCandies of the home, daughter, Brandi P. Miles (Allen); two brothers, Kenneth McCandies and Timothy McCandies (Sironia); two sisters, Patricia M. Womack and Mary "Pinkie" M. Jenkins (Milton); three grandchildren, Amariona Miles, Auriel Miles and Allen Miles Jr.; sister-in-law, Janice H. McCandies with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
