Maurice Edward ("Eddie") Alston

Mr. Maurice Edward "Eddie" Alston of 607 Marsh St. Greensboro peacefully passed away on December 16, 2021 while a patient at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC.  Maurice was his parents early Christmas blessing born December 24, 1970 to Larry Clayton Curtis and Martha Alston in Orange County NC.  

He married Tahisha Cheek on March 5, 2016 and was blessed as a union of one for Five wonderful years.  Maurice is a member of Trinity AME Zion Church, Greensboro, NC.  He loved watching TV, grilling, spending time with family at the family gatherings, watching Wrestling and every other TV show.  Maurice was employed with CarMax.

His life and legacy will be forever cherished by his wife, Tahisha C. Alston, whom he lovingly called "T"; his mother, Martha Carr and stepfather, Anthony Carr; step mother, Evelyn Graves Curtis; three sons, Brandon Dixon, Mykel McLeod and DeArron Ward; one daughter, DeAdriene Ward; one sister, Vanteia Carr; four grandchildren, Maison, Serenity, Esra and Prynce; one niece, Alexandria, one nephew, Demond; maternal aunts and uncles, Roy Alston(Wanda), Leatrice Alston, Glenda McNeil, Mary Waterman and Brenda Alston; paternal aunts and uncles, LaVana Thacker(Robert), Darlene Curtis(Delacy), Kenneth Curtis(Deborah), Tony Curtis, Patrick Curtis and Debra Curtis; brothers-in-law, Morgan Cheek (Dimetria) and Selwyn Cheek; sisters-in-law, Karen Cheek, Tomiko Hilbert (Clint) and Vickie Cheek; a special friend that was like a brother, Dwayne Crisp; a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Clayton Curtis; brother, Corey Matthew Graves,Sr; Maternal grandparents, Clayton and Etrulia Curtis; Maternal grandparents, Joe and Martha Alston; uncles and aunts, Earl Alston, Bobby Ray Alston, Davis Jr. Alston, Ricky Alston, Steve Curtis and Bonnie Mae Baldwin; brother-in-law, Robin Cheek;
