Mary Catherine (Strickland) Denny

Mary Catherine Strickland Denny was born in Chatham County, North Carolina on July 20, 1938 to John Hezekiah Strickland and Mozelle Rogers Strickland Hooker.  Following her father’s passing, her mother married James Hurley Hooker.  She was a graduate of Central High School, Graham, North Carolina as well as Durham Technical College, Durham, North Carolina. She was a devoted and longtime member of Morningstar Baptist Church, where she served faithfully as a Missionary.  

She is survived by her children: Lisa Denny Stone (Keith), Cecil Lee Denny (Felicia) and Danielle Yvonne Long; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two siblings: Fletcher Ray Strickland (Mary) and Emma Annette Stancil (Douglas); step-sister: Annie Bell White (Lee); two step-brothers: Connie Hooker and Frank Hooker; step-son: Jimmy Earl Denny as well as several loving relatives and dear friends. 

She now joins her loving Savior and parents, step-father and her son Anthony Gerald Strickland and siblings: James Lee Strickland & Roger David Strickland.
