Maggie Ruth (Robertson) Johnson

Maggie Ruth Robertson Johnson 89, of Burlington, NC peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday November 12, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Jasper Leon Robertson and Jennie Swann Robertson on July 3, 1932 in Person County.

She enjoyed decorating and making sure her house was always in order. The walls in Maggie's home are filled with precious photos of her family and the loving memories they shared. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Maggie also had an extraordinary love for flowers.

As a young lady she joined Mill Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Roxboro/Leasburg, North Carolina when she was seventeen years old. She was best known within her community and circle of close friends as “Ms. Maggie”. Her love for children and helping others led her to keep the children in the neighborhood for working mothers in the Green Level Community.

She is survived by her sons Bernard Johnson of Green Level, NC, Robert Junior Johnson of the home; daughters, Demetrice Yarborough (Wayne) of Garner, NC, Darsell Hadley (Woody) of Burlington, NC; sisters, Bessie Paylor of Walnut Cove, NC, Patsy McNair of Mebane, NC, Sally Nash of Burlington, NC, Sudie Cousin (James) of Roxboro, NC; in laws Arvesta Garland of Greensboro, NC, Rutha Brooks (Ed) of Hillsborough, NC; eleven grandchildren; Latanza Strayhorn (Chris) of Burlington, Latisha Lawson of Denver CO, LaShauna Yarborough of Raleigh, NC, Travis Yarborough (Toya) of Raleigh, NC, Carla Johnson of Greensboro, NC, Robert B. "BJ" Johnson of Burlington, NC, Essence Chambers and Latasha Reid both Greensboro, NC, Brian Jones (Tameka) of Franklinton, NC, Jaiden Long of Burlington, NC and Verteena Johnson of Charlotte, NC; eighteen great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents Jasper Robertson and Jennie Robertson; husband, Robert Daniel Johnson whom she was married to for fifty-one years; her son Carl Daniel Johnson and daughter in laws Rosa Johnson and Debra Jones Johnson; siblings, Mary Bell Holloway, Lucian Bradsher, Shirley Thompson, Inetha Tucker, Elizabeth Valentine, Mussette Satterfield, James Robertson, Graham Robertson and Jasper Robertson, Jr..
