Lois (Mayo) Allison

Mrs. Lois Mayo Allison was summoned to her eternal rest on January, 11 2022.  Her farewell to family, friends, and loved ones comes after a brief illness.

She was born in Hillsborough, NC on May 19, 1927 and preceded in death by her parents Willie Mayo Sr and Eleanor Whitted Mayo and husband Robert Lee Allison Sr.

She was a longtime member of Gaines Chapel AME Church in Efland, NC where she served as a trustee, and spent time teaching crafts to the youth during Vacation Bible School.

She was employed by Peaches and Cream as a talented dress maker of children’s clothing.  She also enjoyed traveling with her husband Robert, and together they enjoyed socializing with friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Robert Lee Allison Jr (Lynette) of Durham NC, two grandchildren, Monika Allison of Durham NC, Nicole Jackson of Durham NC,  two great grandchildren, Maya Foushee and Maurice Jackson, one brother Jackson Mayo (Faye) of Hillsborough NC, and one sister Virginia Hunter of Raleigh NC.  Also, a loving niece, Carolyn Murphy, two sister in laws, Mrs. Corine Mayo and Mrs. Hazel Mayo, one brother in law, Mr. Henry Johns and a host of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by four brothers, Mr. John Mayo, Mr. Willie Mayo Jr, Mr. Leonard Mayo, Mr. Clarence Mayo and three sisters Mrs. Eva Clark, Mrs. Eleanor Johns, and Mrs. Ethel Yarborough. 

Masks and social distancing will be observed for all services.
