Lester "Jackie" Jackson Griffis of 524 Avon Ave Burlington, NC transitioned to be with the Lord, Thursday August 20, 2020 at his home. Mr. Griffis was born to Sandy Kermit Griffis Sr. and Myrtle Johnson Griffis. He leaves loving memories to cherish to his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Carrie R. Griffis of the home; three sons Richard Griffis Sr, Rodney Griffis (Angie) and Ray Griffis Sr (Kim); four daughters Rosita Griffis McCrae (Loris), Debbie Griffis Johnson (Al), Tina Griffis Paul (Rodney Sr) and Rita Griffis; one brother Sandy Wayne Griffis ; six sisters Elaine G. Mentzy, Linda G. Williamson(Jackie), Kay W. Griffis, Jacqueline Griffis, Blondine G. McAdams and Vanessa G. Packingham(Graves); four aunts Euna Mae G. Oliver, Flora Griffis, Eleanor Johnson Morrow (Benjamin, Sr.) and Maxine Johnson; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. As well as nieces and nephews other relatives and dear friends.

"Jackie" was a graduate of Jordan Sellars High School class of 1961 where he was a member of the track team. He loved to play baseball and was a brick mason by trade.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Sandy Kermit Griffis Jr. and sister Eula G. Tinnin.
