Kenneth Leon Kimber was born in Burlington, North Carolina on February 27, 1958 to the late C.L. Kimber and Ollie Miles Kimber, who survives. He passed away on January 29, 2020 at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hospitals.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter: LaTosha Kimber Bayron of Mebane, NC; a son: Kendrick Kimber of Burlington, NC; three brothers: Curtis Kimber (Ann), Hurdis Kimber and Aron Kimber all of Burlington, NC and three grandchildren: Peyton, Presley and Brooks. In addition, he leaves to mourn three aunts: Betty Kenion, Deloise Williamson, and Doris Day all of Burlington, NC as well as a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and dear friends.
Kenneth attended Eastern Alamance High School and was employed with Cone Mills, Haw River, NC for several years. Kenneth was extremely witty and quite a wiz at joke-telling. He loved to laugh, but he especially loved making others laugh. One of Kenneth's beloved pastimes was watching his favorite western, "Gunsmoke". He affectionately nicknamed his grandkids: "Songbird", Knee-baby" and "Cool-man". He enjoyed listening to music and would often request that his "Songbird" sing his favorite song, "Take Me To The King".
