Mrs. Kellie Martin Belton of 612 N. Fisher St. Burlington transitioned from her labor to her eternal reward on September 9, 2022 at her residence. Mrs. Belton was one of ten children born to Mr. John Albert Martin and Mrs. Lena Peoples Martin in Alamance County, NC on October 11, 1949.
Mrs. Kellie was educated in the Alamance County School System, graduating in 1967 from Central High School in Graham, NC, then achieving an Associate Degree from Alamance Community College to then earn her Bachelors Degree in Business Management from Guilford College. Kellie retired from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill after 15 years of service as an Administrative Assistant. She served the Lord as a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess and serving as the President of that board, she served for 25years as the church clerk, as a Missionary, a member of the Usher Board, church representative at the Alamance County Crop Walk and the Marshall in the Liberty Martin Luther King parade. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, trying her hand at Tennis, while cheering for the UNC Athletics, especially the basketball team.
Mrs. Kellie Martin Belton will be forever cherished by her husband, Douglas R. Belton Jr.; her children, Dana Rena' Belton Bell (Rev. Dr. Antonio Bell) and Douglas R. Belton III; three grandchildren, April Whitaker, Timothy "TJ" Tims and Kiana Bell; three great grandchildren, Ayden Bryant, Robert "Jaylen" Boone and Genesis Bell; five siblings, Lynwood Martin, Ozie Mae Shoffner Garner, Ella Mae Watlington, Lennie Fonville and Juanita Enoch (Wallace Jr.).
Kellie was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Kiah Williams, Ovella "Belle" Tyson, Mozelle Scott and Veronica Williams George.
