In the early morning hours of January 13, 2020, Josephine Clevolia Torain Cousin “Cleedie” excepted her Father’s invitation to join Him and inherit the kingdom He has prepared for her. Clevolia was born on March 28, 1931 in Alamance County, North Carolina to the late Young Thomas Torain and the late Minnie Francis Neal Torain of Mebane, North Carolina. She was educated in the Orange County School System. She was a 1952 graduate of Central High School and Nursing Program at Alamance Community College. Clevolia retired from Lucent Technologies/Western Electric after 29 years of service. As a young girl she joined Hunters Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Mebane, North Carolina where over the years she served faithfully on the Usher Board and later became a traveling usher. She also served on the Missionary Society. She was an Honorary Stewart and Church Treasurer for over 40 years. Clevolia remained dedicated to Hunters Chapel where she received her religious principles and doctrines until her final journey to be with her Father.
Clevolia was married to the late Herman Lee Cousin. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Aaron Lee Cousin (Siounique), and one step daughter, Vicky Anderson Foster (Silas); one grandson, T’Challa Anderson and one granddaughter Morning Anderson; three great granddaughters: Elisha Williamson, Eboni Alston and Kaylia Alston; two great grandsons: Jeremiah Crowder Anderson and Gabriel Anderson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Clevolia was predeceased by two brothers James Torain and Willie Thomas Torain. (Lucille). Seven sisters, Priscilla Torain, Emma Glover (Joe), Cornelia Kemp (Thomas), Annie T. Boone (Nathaniel), Margaret T. Johnson, Elizabeth T. Carter (Carl), and Pauline T. Thompson (Clinton)
