Jimmie Lewis Curry Sr.

Mr. Jimmie Lewis Curry Sr. 75, of Burlington, NC, transitioned on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Hospice Home of Alamance. Jimmie was born to Charlie Curry and Elizabeth Richmond Curry on May 8, 1948, in Alamance County.

Jimmie was a part of the 1967 graduating class of Jordan Sellars High School. Jimmie worked for General Electric for 26 years and retired after a long and prosperous career. Nothing meant more to him that spending time with his family and friends. He had a love for playing pool and fishing. During his quiet time, he loved to watch wrestling on television.

Jimmie is survived by his wife of 32 years: Peggy Robertson Curry; daughter: Jeanette Allen (Marvin); children: Rev. Jimmie L. Curry Jr. (Melodie), Karena Coleman (Corey), Kendra Stone and Kenneth Stone Jr.; sisters: Wythenia Curry Burnette and Debra Curry; ten grandchildren: James Williams Jr., Jada Williams, Keishara Curry, Jonathan Curry; Ariyah Stone, Jaylen Coleman, Naelee Stone, Kamille Coleman, Kyzaiah Stone, Saidee Stone; two great grandchildren: Kaiden Williams, Jaiden Williams along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Elizabeth Curry; brothers: Leon “LD’ Curry, Calvin “Kurt” Curry, Larry Donnell “Cotton” Curry; sisters: Nellie C. “Mack” Kirkpatrick and Gloria Jean Curry.
