Jesse Lee Richmond

Mr. Jesse Lee Richmond 81, of Burlington, NC transitioned on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Cone Health Alamance Regional Hospital. Jesse was born to Albert Richmond and Beatrice Harris Richmond on August 19, 1942, in Alamance County.

Educated in the Burlington Alamance School System he graduated from Graham High School and furthered his education and received an associate degree from Alamance Community College. Jesse met and wed the love of his life Doris Swann and from this union two daughters were born.

He served in the United States Marine Corp as a USMC Sargent and received an Honorable Discharge at the end of his enlistment. He attended Christian Faith Center in Creedmoor, North Carolina where he was an Elder. His ministry work included teaching Bible Study, working as a Security Officer and Armor Bearer to Pastors Mack and Brenda Timberlake. He loved helping people when he could. Spending time with his family and close friends was one of his greatest joys. Jesse worked as a Detention Officer Supervisor for the Alamance County Sheriff’s Department and served as a member of the sheriff departments Honor Guard when called upon to do so.

Jesse leaves to cherish his precious memories his beloved wife Doris; daughters Aquanetta Richmond Murray (Reginald), Candy Richmond Cotten (Dwight); brother, Joseph “Joe” Harris of Washington, DC; sisters, Lillian “Joyce” R. Haith (Larry), Delarious R. Swann (Harold); grandchildren, Reginald Lee Murray Jr., Joshua Daniel Murray (Angelina), Carrington F. Cotten, Camden M. Cotten; great grandchildren, Wendell Murray, Preston Murray, Messiah Murray Stewart, Anahi Murray-Stewart, Belamy A. Murray, Ava E. Murray, Armani J. Murray, Trinati Murray along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Beatrice Richmond, brothers, Thomas N. Richmond, and Jerry A. Richmond.
