Our Lord and Savior called Janis Gray Faucette Jeffries, a Wife, a Mother, a Grandmother, a Sister, an Aunt, a Cousin, and a Friend to be by his side as she transitioned this earth on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., September 28th, 2021 at her home with family and friends by her beside.
She was born on October 8th, 1940, and was the daughter of the late Herman Henderson Faucette, Sr., and the late Bessie Lillian Daye Faucette.
She attended Jordan Sellars High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1959. She received her Nursing degree from Durham Technical Institute in 1961 and worked at Memorial Hospital now Alamance Regional for 40 years until she retired to help raise her youngest Granddaughter.
She was a faithful member of Jeffries Cross Baptist Church until her health begun to decline. She was a member of the Usher Board, the Senior Choir, The Ever Ready Christian Fellowship, and other committees at her church.
She was also a faithful member of The El Jebel Court #48, Daughters of Isis, of Burlington, North Carolina.
She leaves behind her cherished, devoted, and beloved husband of 62 years, Otis Jeffries, Jr; two sons whom adored her, Otis Jeffries, III(Jackie) of the home, Eric Jeffries(Joanne) of Burlington, N.C., three Grandchildren, who were her Angels, Tyler Eric Jeffries, Ashlynn Joanne Jeffries, and Sarah Lillian Jeffries, a sister whom she loved immensely, Betty Sue Tate(Donald) of Mebane, North Carolina, brothers, Herman Henderson Faucette, Jr. of Roswell, Georgia, and James Ronald Faucette (Mildred) of College Paresk, Georgia, whom she both held in the highest esteem and affection,, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Jearl Dean Faucette White.
