James McDowell Obituary

Mr. James E. McDowell age 76 of Tarpley St. Burlington transitioned on February 9, 2021 at his home. Mr. McDowell was the son of Mr. Earl McDowell and Mrs. Susan Gentry McDowell born on August 22, 1944 in Cabell County WV.

Mr. McDowell was a Law Professor at NC State University and a member of Piney Grove AME Church in Raleigh, NC.

Mr. McDowell will be truly missed by his daughters, Lisa Wright (Larry) and Julie McDowell; three grandchildren and three sisters, Nora McDowell, Tracy McDowell and Peggy Woodson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald McDowell.
