Ida (Day) Burnette

Mrs. Ida Day Burnette transitioned on September 8, 2022, while being cared for at Compass Healthcare and Rehab in Mebane, NC.  She was born in Alamance County, NC on May 22, 1924, to Mr. Joe Day and Mrs. Maria Day.

Mrs. Ida was a devoted wife to her husband the late Mr. Robert Sidney Burnette, a loving mother, grandmother and sister.  Her most enjoyable moments were cooking, gardening and staying busy taking care of her home and family always with a smile.  Mrs. Ida was a woman of faith, worshipping when her health permitted at Jeffries Cross Baptist Church where along with her sister, she was a member.

Her loving memory will be forever cherished by her only child, Deacon Dennis Burnette and his wife Marian; her two grandchildren, Dennis Rodney Burnette and his wife Tasha and Tamara D. Burnette Wade and her husband (Kevin); four great grandchildren, Torric Burnette (Jamilla), Devin Burnette, Jackson Wade and Aubrey Wade; great-great grandchild: Tahir Burnette; sister, Thenia D. Mebane along with a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and the following siblings, Haywood Day, Willard Day, Climon Day, Clyde Day, Melvin Day, Fannie Mae Day, Grace D. Wade and Elizabeth "Liz" D. Love.
