Hezekiah "Zack" Vaughn, Jr.

On Tuesday, February 1, 1955, Mr. Hezekiah “Zack” Vaughn, Jr was born in Newark, New Jersey to the late Hezekiah Vaughn Sr. and the late Blanche Foust Vaughn.  He attended school in Orange County, NC. On June 4, 1977 he married the love of his life Sandra Robinson Vaughn in Green Level, NC. He graduated from Eastern Alamance High School Class of 1973.  He worked as an Inspector for Glen Raven Mills (Shawmut) for 35 years where he was loved by so many.   On September 13, 2021 at Cone Health AMRC in Burlington, NC Hezekiah passed away after a brief illness.  Hezekiah is preceded in death by both his parents and his brother John Harold Vaughn.

Hezekiah loved spending time with his wife, daughters and especially his grandchildren who he affectionately called Missy Poo (Nevaeh), Egghead (Xavier) and Four Eyes (Jurnee) and he was their Bon-Bon. His family was his everything. He spent most of his days in his garage with his many friends, you could also find him working in his yard and tending to his many house plants. He took pride in his “grandchildren's” pet chickens, rooster, and turkey. 

Hezekiah shared his love for the Philadelphia Eagles football team with his wife and daughter April. He and his daughter Ashley shared the same birthday. He was a dedicated spouse, father, grandfather, father in law, brother, cousin, friend and the ultimate girl dad. 

Hezekiah is survived by his wife Sandra Vaughn; two daughters April Vaughn Warren (Garry) of Green Level, NC, Ashley Vaughn-Boyd (Jarone) of Burlington, NC; three sisters Yvette Rawlins (Benjamin) of Greensboro, NC, Geraldine Bradsher (Harold) of Efland, NC and Sylvia Daye of Mebane, NC and three grandchildren Nevaeh Boyd, Jurnee Boyd and Xavier “Kai” Vaughn; two sister in laws Linda Tinnin of Burlington, NC and Marilyn Williams (Harold) of Burlington, NC and a host of nieces and nephews.
