A kind and gentle spirit was born to Henry G. Kimber and Dora Maeadlaine Boswell Kimber on March 9, 1957. Being their first born and a son, they decided to name him, Henry G. Kimber, Jr. "Pookey", as he became commonly known, attended the Alamance County School System and was a 1975 graduate of Eastern Alamance High School. Following high school, he attended North Carolina Central University. He met and married Barbara Jean Roberson and the two became one. They shared a love and devotion towards each other compared to no other. The love blossomed so much so, that they were blessed with a son, Tyson.
"Pookey" was a devoted husband, father and son. He provided for his family as he was employed with The City of Burlington as a Surveyor. In his leisure times, he enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, chess and bowling. In his youth, he was baptized at Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church. His favorite scripture was, I Thessalonians 4:13, "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope."
He leaves loving and lasting memories to his wife: Barbara J. Kimber and their son Tyson; his parents: Henry G. Kimber, Sr. and Dora B. Kimber; his brother David and his wife Lisa; four grandchildren: Anthony Garcia Kimber, Cameron Kimber, Princess Kimber and Tyler Garcia Kimber; several aunts and uncles; dear cousins and friends.
