Helen Cheryl Graves was born in Alamance County on December 8, 1948 to Ralph Graves Sr. and Mary Cousin Graves. Following a period of declining health she peacefully transitioned into eternal rest while surrounded by her loving family on September 6, 2022. Helen was a graduate of Jordan Sellars High School and was a professional dry cleaner with Professional Cleaners of Burlington. Helen was a devoted and faithful member of Morning Star Baptist Church where is she served with the Gospel Choir, Missionary society and was recently elevated to Mother of the Church. In her free time, when she wasn’t around her family and spoiling them with love and devotion, she could be found fishing at a yard sale or sewing.
She leaves loving and lasting memories to her three children Harold Dwayne Graves, Donna Marie Spencer and her husband William and Tracy Thompson and her husband Bobby; a goddaughter Lana Lisa Mitchell; grandchildren: Quientchella Graves, Keria Graves, Ajasia Thompson, Stacey Spencer, Latosha Spencer, Michael Spencer, Marcus Spencer, Emoni Holman and Tamari Jackson; great grandchildren: Kenaz (Naz), Kenzi (Big Mama), Markel, Ayannha, Makayla, Miles, Dakota, Ali and Mekhi; four siblings Sandra Graves Hubert Graves Gerald Graves and his wife Faye Donald Graves and Gregory Saunders as well as Minnie loving nieces nephews friends and other relative.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four siblings Ralph Graves Jr., Larry Graves, Barbara Haith and Nancy Graves.
