Mrs. Gladys Louise Cheek Smith age 86 of Gibsonville, NC transitioned on March 28, 2020 at her home.
Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late Mr. James Haith and the late Mrs. Pauline Cheek. She was the wife of the late Mr. John Smith Sr. and to this union she was blessed with one son, John Smith Jr. and one granddaughter, Jacynta Smith. Mrs. Gladys is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth Cheek and a brother, Samuel Cheek. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Mae Cheek and Betty Jean Cheek.
Mrs. Smith was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Gibsonville, where she served on the Pastors’ Aide Ministry, in the Mass Choir and as a member of the Missionary Ministry. After graduation from Jordan Sellars High School, she graduated from beauty college and had many years of gainful employment as a Cosmetologist.
Mrs. Smith’s body can be viewed on Thursday April 2, 2020 at Sharpe Funeral Home from 1 to 7pm.
