Georgia Ruth (Guy) Russell

Mrs. Georgia Ruth Guy Russell 93, transitioned into eternal rest on Monday October 11, 2021 at her home in Gibsonville, NC. Georgia Ruth as she was known to her family and friends, was born to Albert Guy and Ilene Simpson Guy on July 30, 1928 in Alamance County.

One of her favorite activities was gardening and planting flowers. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and dearest friends. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Elon First Baptist Church where she served most of her time there as member of the Usher Board. During her years of service, she held several positions including treasurer and president of the Usher Board. She had several jobs during her life time. She worked 20 plus years as the Supervisor over the Maintenance Division at Carolina Biological Supply Company where she retired. 

Georgia Ruth is survived by her dedicated and loving husband of more than 60 years Harold Russell Jr.; daughters, Marian Gail Walker (Jesse), Doris Russell, Debra Russell; sons, Lawrence Russell, Allen Russell; sisters, Allie Williamson, Nell Rowe (Jesse), Kathleen Thomas; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren along with a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Ilene Guy, Sisters Elizabeth Miles, Francis Patrick, Vergie Burton; brothers, Albert Guy Jr., Joseph Guy.
