Georgia Bradsher Obituary

Love, grace, beauty and kindness were all encapsulated within Mrs. Georgia Marie McCoy Bradsher. Georgia was born on February 7, 1933 in Orange County, North Carolina to George McCoy and Algie Strayhorn McCoy. Initially she attended the segregated Orange County School System and later graduated from the Lincoln High School in 1951.

Following her graduation, she enrolled at North Carolina College, now North Carolina Central University and graduated in 1955 with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Music.  She was a dedicated educator for several years with the Person County School System and was a professional musician. She used her time and talent to encourage and uplift many worship services within the local and surrounding areas. While she was a member of Jeffries Cross Baptist Church, she used her God given talent of sacred church music with the following churches: Union Grove Baptist Church, First Baptist Church - Chapel Hill, St.. Matthews AME Church - Burlington, Jeffries Cross Baptist Church and most recently with First Baptist Church - Apple Street. The melody of her life will forever be cherished within the hearts and minds of several congregants who she was able to impact over the years.

Georgia was an industrious woman. She was the owner and operator of Georgia’s Flower Shop for 15 years. Civically she was a member of the Democratic Women of Alamance County and a member of Sigma Gamma Roe Sorority Inc. In her spare time she loved to  cook, paint, complete puzzles and travel. She was devoted to Faith and Family.

She leaves loving and lasting memories to her dedicated and devoted husband of over 63 years Lawrence L. Bradsher, Sr.; her loving and caring children: Algenia B. Terrell (Brandon) and Lawrence L. Bradsher, Jr (April); five adoring grandchildren who each individually were the apples of her eye: Aniya L. Bradsher, Kennedy N. Terrell, Aysia L. Bradsher, Lawrence L. Bradsher, III “Trey” and Nicholas B. Terrell and a sister Dolores Hogan Clark.  She also leaves memories to several nieces & nephews other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, in her passing she now joins her loving and dear aunt and uncle: Laura & Albert Reaves who reared her as well as a brother and his wife Earl McCoy (Georgiana).
