Mr. George Wilson Chambers, age 95 of 510 Carter Road of Graham, NC transitioned on January 16, 2021. George Wilson Chambers son of Willie Edward Chambers and Cora Belle Baynes Chambers in Caswell County, North Carolina was born on December 15, 1925.
George Wilson Chambers attended the rural schools of Caswell County and was a 1942 graduate of Caswell County Training School. Following high school, he was drafted into the Navy during World War II. After his time served in the military, George ventured to New York where he began a multitude of employment positions until he landed his vibrant career as a bus operator with the New York City Mass Transit Authority until he retirement. George spent his retirement preforming odd jobs which included delivering prescription medications and a Hunting guide. George also spent his retirement fishing and hunting. George was as a member and Trustee of Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Chambers is survived by his loving wife of 65 years: Alice Duck Brailey Chambers, his loving brother and sister’s: Willie Chambers (Jackie Chambers), Wythene C. Parker, Carol C. Evans (Rudy Evans); his loving daughters: Patricia Alice Chambers of Graham, NC and Gwenn Carson (Mario Carson) of Buffalo NY; his loving sons: George Thomas Chambers of Burgaw, NC, James E Chambers and Renea Chambers of Indian Springs, Ohio, and Dwayne Kendel Chambers and Audie Chambers of Beltsville, MD; his loving grandchildren: Aaron T. Chambers, Brain T. Chambers, Brandon T. Chambers, Jaye Wilson Chambers, Janea E. Chambers, Shantonia Graves, Natasha Herring, Carmel Carson, Lindsey Carson, Robert Carson as well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces & nephews other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Lucille Chambers Slade, Hubert Hover Chambers and Flossie Chambers Redd.
