Ernestine Poole Pinnix of 1010 Camden St, Burlington, NC transitioned on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at her home.
Ernestine was born in Durham, NC on February 19, 1946 to the late Ernest C Poole and Jennie R Poole. She was educated in Durham Public School system and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Business from Alamance Community College.
Ernestine was employed at E.M.Holt Elementary School as a Physical Education teacher for many years as well as a substitute teacher for Graham High School. She later went to work in Real Estate where she sold manufactured/ modular homes and mortgage loans. Her last job was property manager at Beaumont Apartments until she retired in 2000.
Ernestine was a long time member of Morgantown Baptist Church where she was heavily involved with the youth. She was youth advisor, youth Sunday school teacher, director of God’s Angels Mime Ministry and served on the transportation committee.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her three children, Patricia Pinnix, Joseph Pinnix, Yvonne Pinnix, three grandchildren, Shannon Pinnix, Cierra Harris-Pinnix, Shadymon Pinnix, two great grandchildren, Torrenity Richmond and Madison Pinnix. Ernestine also leaves behind 9 surviving siblings, Phillip Poole (Barbara), Jerry Poole (Jennie), Lessie Cox (John), Beaulah Overby, Curtis Poole (Aronda), Cora Washington, Gloria Mayes, Walter Poole, Dorothy Sims (Michael), sister in love Marjorie Poole as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ernestine is preceded in death by her former husband Joe Pinnix and one sibling Ernest Poole Jr.
