Edward ("PD") Swift, Sr.

Mr. Edward “P.D” Swift Sr. was born October 21, 1945 to Blanche Mae Bryant Swift Hester and Robert John Swift in Alamance County.  He quietly transitioned from his labor to his reward on October 7, 2021 at UNC hospital, Chapel Hill NC.  Edward was educated in the Alamance County School System.  “P.D” was a self-employed Plumber throughout the county and city to all in need of his professional services.  "Swift" was married to the love of his life, Margarine Wade Swift, they shared a life of love, respect, a lot of smiles and laughs.

“P.D” or “Swift” as he was affectionately called was no stranger to anyone, as he would say “The party didn’t start until he got there.  He was the life of any situation.   In his own words “P.D” stood for “Party Dog” and Pretty D-M Good”.  “P.D” loved his family and friends, spending time with them all, and especially talking on the phone.  He Loved all, but he specially had a great love for his great grandkids, Kennedy, Malayah, Ariel and Koury Jr., his children, Tanya M. Webb (Kerry) of Ellenwood Georgia, Sheridena Swift of the home, William Haith (Kim) of Burlington, NC; grandchildren, India, Samedra, Jayla, Brittany, Jasmine, Uniqua and Trinitee; great grandchildren, Candace, Wendell, Anna, Prestin, Branden, Enreqkua, Makai; one aunt, Katie Long; sisters-in-law, Daisy M. Swift and Ada Swift; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Graves (Christobella) and Ulysses “Pete” Graves; nieces, Rhonda Rogers, Sonya Bynum and Frances Graves; nephew, Cedric Swift; many great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews along with many cousins and friends.

“P.D” was preceded in death by his loving wife; son, Edward Swift Jr.; grandson, Kerry D. Webb, Jr.; brothers, Robert L. Swift, John W. Swift; nephews, Anthony R. Swift and Johnny Rogers.

The “life of the Party” of William Allen Road has gone but never forgotten, with the many memories of his smile, and with his sayings and his interpretations of words!
