Dr. Douglas Diaab was born November 16, 1943 to Gladys Clencie Morgan Leath and Willie Jeff Leath in Alamance County, NC. He was a proud graduate of Jordan Sellars High School, Class of 1962, Hampton Institute (now Hampton University), Hampton, Virginia and Meharry Dental School, Nashville, Tennessee. He a well-respected Dentist and entrepreneur in our community. He was instrumental in introducing Shea Butter to our community. Dr. Diaab was also a member of the NAACP and a part of the African American Muslim community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Freddie Leath; sisters: Willie Mae Leath Pinnix and Betty Jean Leath Fahie, who passed days before Douglas on March 26, 2022.
Survivors are his wife: Gloria to whom he was married for 52 years; children: Dirul and Aqueelah; brothers: John Thomas “Art John” Leath and David Leath of Burlington and Ricky Leath of Miami, Florida; brother and sister-in-law Tommie J. Moguel and Martin Jackson as well as nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
