Dorothy “Dot” Lee McAdoo Allison was born to William and Myrtle Enoch McAdoo. Dot passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021.
Dot’s early education was in Orange County and continued her education at North Carolina A&T Sate University for Dietician affording her the occasion to work in the cafeteria at Efland Cheeks Elementary School. She also took business classes at Durham College. She enjoyed the opportunity of working at the Orange County Health Department which allowed her to do what she loved best; being with people.
She is survived by two children; Gilbert Allison (Bernice) and Beverly Stokes; three grandchildren: Kim Haith (William), Reginald Allison and Allison Stokes; two great-grandchildren: Darren McLeod (Sarah) and India Jones; a great-great-grandson: Jaylin McLeod; brothers: Richard McAdoo (Beulah) and Charles McAdoo (Evelyn); sister-in-law: Lois Allison; special family friend: Reverend V. Perry Burns (Sandra) as well as a vast multitude of nieces & nephews, cousins and friends.
Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Allison; sisters: Pauline Mebane Thompson, Ruby Mebane, Pauline Holman (Bennie); brothers: Dave McAdoo, Vernell Hudson, William Currie and bonus mother: Lizzie McAdoo.
