Demetrius Eugene Graves, was born to the union of the late Willie McCoy “Bill” Graves and the late Ula Cyrilla Johnson Graves on March 18, 1956 in Burlington, NC. He transitioned on July 29, 2022 in his home.
Demetrius attended Alamance County Public School System. Post high school, he was employed by several employers. He worked for Wilco, Sam’s Store, and Browns Chicken Farm (18+ years).
A loyal lifelong member of Allen’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, he served this ministry faithfully. He loved serving on the Hospitality Committee and testifying during service.
Demetrius loved working on cars, landscaping and being in the yard, being a handyman, fast cars, motorcycles and spending time with family.
He married the love of his life, Cassandra Elaine Sellars and to this union they had two sons, Rodney and Cormick.
His parents, Willie McCoy “Bill” Graves and Ula Cyrilla Johnson, preceded him in death.
He leaves not to mourn but to cherish all the memories: his loving wife Cassandra Elaine Sellars of the home, two sons, Command Sergeant Major Rodney (Leyla) Graves of Fort Polk, Louisana and Cormick Graves of Burlington, NC; Four brothers, Willie Graves (Brenda), Joseph Graves (Lynn) Ricky Graves (Kelli), Gary Graves (Lay Precious); Six sisters, Doris Ellison (Ithon), Christine Hester, Rebecca Elliott, Edna Brooks (George), Mary Alyce Brooks, Teresa Elmore (James); two brother-n-laws, Charles Sellars (Misty), Myron Sellars. Seven devoted grandchildren, Deonta C., Tijen D., Talia J., Christan L., Armani T., Denasia C., Angel M.; four great grandchildren, one uncle Brown Johnson, Jr. (Hattie) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and admirers. Special acknowledgment of Jeanette Mitchell and Robert Jones.
