Delmer Gant Jr.

Mr. Delmer Gant Jr. age 76 of 415 Greene St. transitioned on September 13, 2019 at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell.

Mr. Gant Jr was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer Gant Sr. and Mary Ruth Alston Gant. His wives Vercie Mae Alston Gant and Annie Mae Harvey Gant, one son, Jamie Harris and daughter, Cassandra Harris.

Mr. Delmer is survived by daughters, Vercie Delmeta Gant, Christy Harris and Angela Harris; sons, John F. Harvey and Wesley Nickerson (Tish); siblings, Mary Gant, Clarence Gant and James “JC” Gant; 15 grandchildren and. 17 great grandchildren. 

Mr. Gant Jr. was a graduate of Jordan Sellars High School class of 1962.  He retired from the sanitation department with the City of Burlington, Delmer was a hard working man, He worked several jobs, including the Alamance Memorial Hospital and The Nazarene Church.  He loved fishing, gardening and attending church.
