John Thomas Rogers, was born to the union of the late Green Vinson and the late Nora Rogers on June 29,1929 in Person County,NC. He transitioned on July 4, 2023.
John Thomas was faithful to God and faithful to Clinton Memorial United Church of God. He served as a Sunday School Teacher, Superintendent of Sunday School, Chairman Deacon for many years and was the oldest church member. He served his country in the USA Army.
John Thomas attended Dela Plain School. He also got his GED from Alamance Community College. He was employed at Eckerd’s Drug where he retired. After his retirement he went to work at Alamance Foods and retired from there. John Thomas enjoyed Ham Radio activities and loved growing vegetables. He married the love of his life Mary Foust Rogers. He was affectionately known as Gran-Gran by his grandchildren.
He leaves not to mourn but to cherish all the memories: Loleta Corbett (Donnell); sons, George T. Rogers (Emma), David T. Rogers; ten grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Green Vinson and Nora Rogers along with his brothers and sisters.
