Mr. David Lee Terry Sr. was born to Bessie Marrow Terry and Ed Jenkins Terry on January 3, 1930, in White Plains, NY. David was the youngest of his siblings, Fred, Susie, Walter known as “Duck” and Arthur. He and his sister Susie were very close.
David is known for being one of a kind. Everyone in the family described him as the friendliest member of the family along with the title of a walking talking history book on the history of Townsville, NC. He was the #1 person that everyone would ask about and wanted to see. He had an extradentary personality with a genuine sense of caring about others that caused everyone to instantly connect to him.
David met his beloved wife; Bertha and they were married for 57 years. He always said he would love her until the day he died and now they are reunited, and their love is stronger than ever. “What God so joined together let no man put a sunder.”
David leaves behind his children; Carolyn, Linda, Yolanda, David Jr. (Deborah), and Howard; 12 grandchildren, Kiel, David III (Chena), Amissa, Danielle, Teri (Dallas), Mackenzie, Keith, Korey, Teneya, Shawn, Taron, and Cheniece; 18 great grandchildren, Jasmine, Ivy, Bella, Mahsir, Jada, Jaalon, Nasir, Khai, Elijah, Steve, Tori, Anne, Sanaa, Seth, Taliyah, Tyrique, Terry and Taniyah along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Ed; his wife Bertha and his siblings, Fred, Susie, Walter “Duck” and Arthur.
