David Phillip Jones

David Phillip Jones, Jr. was born in Anderson, South Carolina to David Phillip Jones, Sr. and Addie Lee Bozeman Jones.  In 1959 he married his life-long partner and friend, Verna Singletary Jones.  He was a Textile Supervisor with Burlington Industries for a number of years.

David professed hope in Jesus Christ and and initially became a member of First Baptist Church, Apple St. under the leadership of Rev. Dr. R.W. Styles, Sr. Later he joined Allen’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with his wife’s family and used his voice to sing with the Senior Choir and the Male Chorus.  He also sang with the Jones Family Choir for a number of years.  

He leaves loving and lasting memories to his devoted wife: Verna Singletary Jones; five children: Michael David Jones (Cynthia), Debra Jones, Barbara Jones Brown (Delroy), Ronnie Jones and Catherine Jones; a brother: Alexander Jones (Lessie); 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Shirley S. Vincent; as well as a host of nieces & nephews other relatives and dear friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Jones.
