Darius Leon “Boody” Pinnix Sr. was born was born May 16, 1979 to the late Darius Leon Boseman and Robin Ann Pinnix, who survives. He was a 1998 graduate from Western Alamance Highschool where he played football and given the nickname “Boody Call.” He was a proud alumnus and his greatest moments were watching his son carry his legacy on the field. He worked as a truck driver for a number of years.
In addition to his mother, Boody leaves to cherish his memories of his wife, Shontrail Russell Pinnix; Children: Darius Jr. and Hailey, step-daughter, Destiny; Brothers: DarinTego Boseman, Litego Marshal, Josh Boseman, and Quintas Pinnix (Jennifer); Sisters: Beverly Clapp, Virginiaquista Boseman, Ra’Trell Boseman, Sherrice Farrow, Brandy Boseman, and Brittaney Boseman; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, a host of cousins, friends, and the Mother of his children, Liz Hedden.
To know him was to love him. Boody was known for his big personability and made everyone around him laugh. He was a dedicated father first and foremost. Boody treasured his children and enjoyed every moment with them. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, who he treated like his own.
Boody loved football. Win or lose, he was an avid Washington Redskins fan. If he wasn’t attending an ECU football game, he was often found sitting by a pond fishing, riding dirt bikes or playing cards.
He was full of life and played his music loud! His playlist always included Tu Pac and Big Pun.
Boody will be missed by many. The kindness of relatives and friends who shared our sorrow has comforted and sustained us in the loss of him. We thank you sincerely for your expressions of sympathy.
