103 years of life labor and love came to a quiet close on January 19, 2021, when Mr. Curtis Davis passed away surrounded by his loving family.
Curtis Davis was born in Patrick County, Virginia on September 6, 1917 to Tom Davis and Nancy Turner Davis. He was married to Pauline Johnson Davis and to this union seven children were born.
Mr. Davis was an assembler with P. LorillardCigarette Manufacturers. He was a member of Elon First Baptist Church and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and farming. His family recalls with fondness his farming of pigs and his mule, with whom he cultivated many gardens within the area. He was a loving father grandfather and friend.
He leaves loving memories to his six surviving children: Curtis Davis and his wife Marva; Margaret Davis Slade and her husband Thomas; Arlene Davis Oamen; Sylvia Foxx and her husband Gary; Pattie D. Poteat and her husband Thomas; and Violet D. Taylor and husband Rodney; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren as well as many dear nieces & nephews other relatives and friends.
In addition to his loving wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Maurice Davis and all of his siblings: Reverend Weaver Davis, Harry Davis, Kibble Davis, Ranie Davis, Tommy Davis, Fannie D Jackson, Elvira D. Fields, Waver D. Covington and Ethel Davis.
